The Islamic State group (IS) has announced looting special materials for dialysis in its way from Tripoli to Benghazi Medical Center for being owned by “unjust state”.
Media reports said, on Friday, that a statement by the group announced capturing a driver called Ramadan Atea, who was driving the load to its destination.
The IS announced on Wednesday confiscating the materials for the benefit of Ebn Sina hospital in Benghazi “that serves the Islamic State and its Muslim inhabitants”.
The group released the driver as he didn’t commit any crime, the IS statement added.
A source from Benghazi Medical Center has confirmed the incident. The Center suffers from a severe shortage in medical instruments and treatments in the dialysis department.
The Center called on officials to provide a secure route to medical supplies through Tobruk port, as land shipping through Sirte isn’t safe anymore.
