The United Nations special envoy, Martin Kobler, announced that a large number of Libyan participants and high-level international participants, including many foreign Ministers, have committed to attend the signing of the political agreement scheduled for Thursday in Skhirat.
The agreement was supposed to be signed on Wednesday, as agreed in Rome conference, before postponing it for logistical reasons, spokesperson of the United Nations said.
Kobler expressed gratefulness to Morocco for hosting the event.
“I take note of the meeting between President of the House of Representatives (HoR), Mr. Ageela Saleh, and the President of the General National Congress (GNC), Mr. Nuri Abusahmain, in Malta on 15 December 2015.” Kobler added in a statement published on UNSMIL website on Wednesday.
The Chiefs of GNC and HoR declared in Malta on Tuesday that they need more time before forming national accord government referring that acting swiftly only harms.
Kobler retained that the UN encourages all Libyan efforts to end the current divisions through inclusive dialogue. “I will continue to actively engage with all Libyans to that end” he added.
