Weapons thought to be smuggled from Libya were confiscated in the Algerian capital, Algeria announced.
The Algerian authorities announced confiscating 13 weapons in types of “Monkom”, “Kblat”, and “Scorpio”.
Weapons were set to be sold for $7500 each, Alwatan Algerian French language newspaper reported. Fears increase that other weapons may have reached Algerian regions while chaos mires Libya.
Two persons related to the smuggling were arrested; 30 years old man was arrested lately in Algeria, who investigations proved that he wasn’t connected to smuggling ring and his role was only to store weapons and hand them over. The other arrested suspect’s role was to secure the road for weapons from Libya to Algeria.
It wasn’t known if the smugglings were related to terrorism operations.
