A number of Libyan politicians, intellectuals and activists issued a statement, Thursday, addressing countries taking part in Rome conference on Libya that is scheduled to be held Sunday.
Signatories who reached more than 35 Libyan symbols (more are sharing) have stressed on a number of consonants and reactions to the current state of Libya. They called on conference’s participants to provide adequate support for the Government of National Accord (GNA) to carry out its tasks.
The statement explained the step of gathering was “in response to aspirations of Libyans suffering the consequences of the Libyan crisis that sheds its effect on politics, society, security, and economy”.
The “patriotic powers” who signed the statement asserted on 3 main constants; the unity of the Libyan lands, the necessity of a democratic path and reconciliation within transitional justice.
Participants expressed support for peace talks between rivals, Fezzan initiative by members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Government of National Accord (GNA) after accepting modifications suggested by the mentioned initiative.
