NCHRL rapporteur survives assassination attempt in Tripoli


Rapporteur of the National commission for Human Rights in Libya, Ahmed Abdel-Hakeem Hamza, survived assassination attempt after being shot by armed men in Qasr Bin Ghasheir municipality in Tripoli.

The NCHRL confirmed in a statement that Hamza survived assassination attempt after his car was shot in  Qasr Bin Ghasheir by unknown armed group.

The statement pointed that the armed men were driving black Chevrolet car, they tried to stop Hamza’s car, but when he tried to escape from them, they shot the car, his injures are minor, the front glass of the car was broken.

The staff of the the NCHRL were targeted and subjected to frequent threats varied between blackmailing, abducting, especially that the Commission criticizes terrorist and armed groups in Libya and exposes their accuses for human rights and journalists.
