The House of Representatives (HoR) and the General National Congress (GNC) singed a declaration of principles to solve the Libyan crisis, in the Tunisian capital, in the first meeting without international intermediates.
The Declaration includes three points, the most important is the formation of a ten member committee from parliamentarians to name the head of the Government of National Accord (GNA) and two deputies, one from the HoR and the other from GNC, within ten days.
This agreement deletes all the former United Nations envoy, Bernardinio Leon, previously declared about the appointment of Fayez Al-Sarraj as the Prime Minister. The selecting of the Prime Minister and his two deputies will be through a common committee of the HoR and the GNC.
From his side, the GNC member, Moussa Faraj, confirmed that the meetings between the HoR and the GNC in the Tunisian capital proved successful.
He added to Libya Al-Mostakbal website that “efforts are being made to get the HoR and the GNC together to find solution by Libyans themselves that is supported by the United Nations, efforts were successful”.
Regarding main points in the declaration, faraj said that “there is a common statement form the HoR and the GNC stating the main points they agreed on, most important, the agreement on legislature body of two chambers, and the formation of ten members committee, five from each side, to select the head of the Government of National Accord (GNA) and its two deputies, the return to independence modified constitution of 1963, and the formation of common committee to make required amendments”.
