China and Russia to join UN talks on Libya


The Libya Foreign Minister, Mohamed El-Dairy, welcomed the accession of China and Russia to communications with the United Nations envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler.

China and Russia join ambassadors’ team who follow the UN sponsored political talks. They may both be invited to the international meeting in Rome on13 December.

America, France and Britain take part in the communications with Kobler.

The Chinese decision comes after a mutual meeting between El-Dairy and president Xi Jinping on Friday at China-Africa Forum in South Africa, media reports.

Jinping has expressed his full support for the Governement of National Accord (GNA) in Libya.
