Gentiloni calls for intensifying efforts for Libya

The Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni has called for intensifying diplomatic efforts to push the members of the two Libyan parliaments to accept the political agreement reached in Skhirat with the United Nations’ mediation.

“We are in need to double our diplomatic efforts to reach consensus between Libyan rivals”, Gentiloni said in a message to several counterparts including the Algerian Foreign Minister, Abdelkader Messahel, and the UN envoy to Libya, Martin Kobler.

The Italian Foreign Ministry noted that Gentiloni will discuss the development of the Libyan case with his American counterpart, John Kerry on the margins of the NATO ministers’ meeting in Brussels.
