Morocco has hailed the statement issued by members of the House of Representatives (HoR) in which they expressed their acceptance to the political agreement in principle.
“According to the statement issued on 27th of November 2015, Morocco welcomes the initiative that values the declaration signed by the majority of HoR members concerning supporting the Government of National Accord (GNA) that also has the support of most members of the General National Congress, GNC” the foreign ministry said in a statement, Saturday.
Morocco renewed its support for the United Nations efforts, and its envoy’s, Martin Kobler, initiatives. It pushed all sides to accelerate forming the government while asserting that Morocco will continue its “constructive and serious contribution to enable the Libyan actors to reach a political solution that considers the outputs of Skhirat talks.
Libyan rivals had rounds of talk in the Moroccan city of Skhirat to form the the Government of National Accord (GNA). “This solution will enable Libya to restore peace and stability and preserve its unity and independence and face the current challenges of extremism and terrorism”, the statement added.
