Egyptian foreign ministry said that the foreign minister, Sameh Shokry, has met the United Nations envoy, Martin Kobler, Saturday, within Kobler’s first visit to Egypt after taking office month ago.
Shokry and Kobler discuss the situation in Libya, in the awake of stalled efforts to reach the Government of National Accord (GNA), beside Kobler’s meeting with Libyan parties during the last days.
From another side, spokesperson for Egyptian presidency, Alaa Youssef, said that the president, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, agreed with the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, in a phone call, on the importance of coordination between both countries in the coming phase, especially in fighting terrorism.
He added in a statement, that Al-Sisi and Renzi agreed to continue cooperation to settle down different conflicts in the region, especially in Libya, which “would affect positively the stability of Middle East and Mediterranean”.
He added that the Italian Prime Minister stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination at all levels of common interest.
