UNSMIL appoints Serra as a senior advisor


Newly appointed head of the United Nations Envoy In Libya Martin Kobler announced, Tuesday, in his first statement after taking his duties, that discussing security with Libyan factions is on top of his priorities.

UNSMIL announced in a statement that Kobler’s team will include Italian General Paolo Serra as “ senior advisor for UN envoy on security sectors matters related to dialogue process”.

According to the statement, Serra is well experienced military official, has wide experience in multi- nationalities peace operations and he worked for UN interim forces in Lebanon “ UNIFIL” from 2012-2014.

It is worth mentioning that Italian minister Roberta Pinotti unveiled the commissioning of  United Nations for Italian General Paolo Serra the file of establishing security and stability in Libya and training of police and army forces.
