Benghazi mayor, Omar Al-Barasy, handed the request to the 60 committee in Albaida city after being authorized by Cyrenaica municipalities’ mayors.

Al-Barasy explained that such demand came as appreciation to sacrifices presented by the city of Benghazi since foundation in 1949 till modern Libya was founded and the declaring constitution, in which Benghazi was announced the capital, in 1951. Libya sacrificed for 42 years under Qaddafi’s regime, has been sacrificing since February 17th and its sons fall every day in fighting terrorism for the world, according to Al-Barasy.
