Tunisia arrests 17 extremists in Tataouine


Tunisian Interior Ministry said that query and counter-terrorism unites in province of the National Guard in Tataouine arrested, during the last week, 17 extremists, including two women, from Tataouine were heading to Libya to join terrorist groups in the city of Sirte.

According to the Interior statement, Wednesday, investigations led by National Unity for Crimes of Terrorism Research at the National Guard, pointed to the relation between the group and the entry of two cars loaded with weapons to Libya from Alarzat area in September 2015, which Border Guards unites managed to stop.

The ministry added that counterterrorism managed, during last week, to stop nine dangerous terrorist elements in Qafsa and Tozer, were planing for attacks inside Tunisia.
