GNC members demand reducing Abusahmain’s powers

Members of the General National Congress, GNC, demanded withdrawing and reducing the powers granted to the GNC chief, Nuri Abusahmain, and shifting it to members.

A source inside the GNC said that more than 40 GNC members signed a petition demanding holding a session next Sunday, in addition to explaining the final stance of the GNC towards talks and the formation of the Government of National Accord, GNA.

The session was adjourned by the first vice-president, Awad Abdulsadek due to squabbles between members concerning powers in Abusahmian’s hands.

The GNC has already authorized Abusahmain to follow up the political talks and to sign the state budget, in addition to the post of the supreme military commander.
