United Nations special envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon, holds discussions, Sunday, in Cairo about the Libyan situations and the political agreement, which was signed by the Libyan factions earlier this month in Skhirat in Morocco.
Leon, according to Egyptian media sources, is due to meet with the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shokry, and the Arab League Secretary General, Nabil Elaraby, to inspect methods to save the political agreement that is receiving Egyptian and Arab support while is opposed by some Libyan actors.
In relation to the above, the member of the General National Congress, GNC, Mousa Farag, explained that calls are undertaken aiming at setting a meeting among members of the GNC and the House of Representatives, HoR, to reach consensus about the political solution for the Libyan crisis.
“No time was set for these meetings. It won’t contradict with UN efforts as harmony between the two rivals will facilitate reaching solutions that based on national constants, and removes the fears of all parties and responds to the aspirations of the Libyan people” Farag continued, according to Libya Al-mostakbal.
