The GNC to discuss the proposal of unity government

The General National Congress (GNC) is holding a session, Wednesday, to discuss the formation of government of national accord announced by UN envoy to Libya, Bernardino Leon, last Friday, in a news conference in Moroccan city of Skhirat.

Some members expected the session to be blowing due to differences between members who are in favor of the government and those who oppose it.

Close source said that some members inside the GNC refuse to discuss the proposed unity government, until approving their notes on the political agreement draft.

The source stressed that the amendment to article one third paragraph, concerning government of national accord in the political agreement draft, will cause controversy inside the GNC, as rejection right for Prime Minister deputies no longer exists after stating that any decision should be taken unanimously by the Prime Minister and three deputies, and incase this is not possible through first and second vote, the decision will be taken with the simple majority of ministerial council, and the Prime Minister’s side wins in case of equal votes.

Dissolved House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobroq suspended its session for Tuesday to 20th October to vote on accepting or rejecting the proposed unity government.
