Armed men abduct Tunisians in Sabratha 


An armed group abducted group of Tunisians in the city of Sabratha, 60 KM west of Tripoli, Tuesday, to pressure Tunisian authorities to release an official in Sabratha municipality council who was arrested in Tunisia some days ago.

Sabratha municipality council said that Hussain Aldthuwadi, member of the council, and an escort were arrested, Saturday, in Tunisian airport while preparing to participate in a forum organized by the United Nations.

According to sources, Aldthuwadi was to attend training course in the Tunisian capital for two weeks, he was arrested while leaving Tunis–Carthage International Airport.

Aldthuwadi is considered to be the second official to be arrested after Al-Azhar Almaqoury, who was detained during last months.
