The Prime Minister, Abdallah Althini, was prevented on Monday, for the second time, from traveling from Alabraq airport, which is close to the headquarters of the government in the eastern city of Albaida.

According to sources inside the airport, an armed group forced Al-Thini and his escorted envoy to disembark from plane; the government didn’t announce anything related to the incident.

This is the second incident in a week; Al-Thini was prevented from traveling to Malta, last Tuesday, to attend a conference organized by the National Oil Corporation.

The government then issued a statement, and said that the armed group prevented the Prime Minister from traveling, and insisted on preventing his plane from taking off based on orders from chief of staff of the Air Force, Saqr AlJaroushi, under the command of retired General Khalifa Haftar, the army commander under the House Of the Representatives.
