The House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobrok, issued a statement yesterday considering the latest round of political dialogue in the Moroccan city of Skhirat, and expressed its astonishment of the insistence of the General National Congress (GNC), who failed to sign, to remake more amendments and returning back to the first point.
The HoR expressed its resentment and disquiet of what it considered negligence from the UN mission in resolving the situation, especially that the HoR made every possible concession in order to achieve an agreement and forming a unity government.
HoR also stressed its commitment to the initial Political Agreement signed in Skhirat by HoR and all other parties and participants, except the GNC. The HoR also refused any amendments or additions on the previously signed agreement, with its full commitment to study the annexes in terms of amending and adding that doesn’t conflict with the provisions of the signed document of the political agreement.
The HoR also recalled its team to Tobrok, and asked the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Bernardino Leon, to respond to the letter from HoR chairman and confirm it.
The statement also said that the HoR will continue to implement the road map to maintain the peaceful transfer of power and avoid chaos and constitutional vacuum till the end of the transitional period.
